In April 2015, Klaus Dürbeck of KDC travelled to South Africa for a Technical Assistance Mission (TAM) for CBI’s South African Export Coaching Programme (ECP) for natural ingredients for health products. The project is aiming to build the capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises in the sector to increase exports of locally value added natural ingredients.
During the mission, Klaus Dürbeck visited and audited six potential participants of the project. A baseline to the audits was the successful implementation of the CBI selection criteria for the ECP. An important point was the development of a market entry strategy and an export marketing plan to enter the EU health ingredients market. To support this step, the companies were invited to Vitafoods 2015 for a market orientation on the EU health ingredients market.
CBI is actively advising government administrations, sector associations and various business support organisations (BSOs). Providing access to trade intelligence and awareness of the opportunities and threats associated with international trade, the CBI technical assistance activities are strengthening the capacity of SMEs and BSOs.
